NATO supply: DPC warns of ‘historic long-march’

Diffa-i-Pakistan Council held a conference against resumption on NATO supply.

Pakistan Defence Council warned government to close NATO supply routes immediately, otherwise, a ‘historic long-march’ will start from tomorrow.

All parties conference was organized by Diffa-i-Pakistan Council (Pakistan Defence Council) on Saturday against the resumption of NATO supply lines.

While addressing a gathering in Lahore, Jamat-ud-Dawa leader Hafiz Saeed slammed government’s move allowing containers to carry supplies for NATO troops fighting in Afghanistan.

The act would never be in the interests of the country and Islam, Hafiz Saeed said.

Ameer, Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan, Syed Munawar Hassan also criticized the federal government.

“Those violating court orders are advising us not to take law into own hands” Munawar Hassan remarked.

Awami Muslim League (AML) chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed demanded government’s resignation.

Other prominent members including Maulana Sami-ul-Haq and Hameed Gul also addressed the gathering and urged federal government to close NATO supply routes.
