Modi booked for killing of British nationals during Gujarat riotsIndian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been booked over the killing of 3 British nationals who were identified as Muslims and shot during 2002 Gujarat riots, reported Dunya News.

The case was registered against Modi on the request of British national Tariq Mehmood. The case will be investigated by diplomatic police. The British nationals were present during Gujarat riots and were shot after being identified as Muslims by extremist Hindu protestors. The British nationals who were identified as Saeed, Shakeel and Muhammad Aswat along with their driver Yousuf were burnt during the riots.

It is pertinent to mention here that Indian PM Narendra Modi has been accused of fanning communal riots during 2002 in Gujarat, where he was Chief Minister of the province. More than 1000 Muslims lost their lives in the aftermath of the violence.
